Dip your tire in the waters of the Pacific Ocean and begin your ride east, one day at a time, for one week or two, or ride Coast to Coast. Northwest Sampler is the first of nine continuous Cross-State segments and offers dramatic landscape from start to finish. Begin at Washington's waterfront, traverse over the snowcapped Cascade Range, amble through picturesque valleys, and cross whitewater rivers. Meander through apple and wine country and visit Grand Coulee Dam, the eighth wonder of the world. Follow "Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes" into Kellogg, a quaint Idaho logging town, then conquer Thompson Pass for stunning views of the Bitterroot Mountains. Roll with the tumbling Clark Fork and Flathead rivers into Montana's Garden City, Missoula, guarded by five mountain ranges.
